Spring Break Swim Essentials

Hello Loves,

It's almost that time of year where the warm weather starts to hit us and swim suits come out. But of those traveling to sunny Florida and trying to figure out what to pack and what to wear I have the essential guide for you. First off let me just say I have lived in quiet a few of the spring break destinations here in Florida from Cocoa Beach, Destin, Daytona Beach, and now Orlando. I have had my fair share of spring break mishaps and spring break blessings in my time, so today I am going to share what I think is essential pieces for Florida Spring Break.

First thing on my list is a positive attitude. Let's be honest we never know what the weather is going to be 100% of the time, we have a lot of expectations of what we want the week to hold and we sometimes have lots of personalities to deal with. So put on your happy face/ positive attitude and let the rest be what it's supposed to be. Now lets get down to the essentials we all need to make our trip a success.

I wrote on instagram recently I was in the search of the best jean shorts. Still currently doing my research but I think I'm narrowing it down and should have all on my info for you all shortly. But jean shorts are a must, they go with everything. From distressed to solid jean shorts they can go with cute tanks or graphic tees or even swim suits. You also need a good board short. Those are great for the water or a bike ride or even just hanging out around outside. You can pair them with so much and not feel like your just in a swim suit. In the last pic of the one piece those jean shorts are from Aerie and they great from beach to around town and are super comfy. They are easy to slide on and off.  So if your not sold on board shorts go with these aerie shorts.

Swim suits can be dreaded by some but there are so many options out there now and the sporty swim suits I feel are great especially if your a busy Mom like me, in and out of the water, building sand castles, or just trying to carry all that crap down to the beach or pool. High waisted are in this season and can be a great if your not really looking to show off that tummy but still want to be in a cute two piece. I'm going to be completely honest I don't love the high waisted suit on me. I feel like it cuts my stomach off and doesn't do much for me. But it is a super cute suit and I feel like it would look good on most girls this summer. You have to pick something that you are going to be comfortable in. Don't do what I have done in the past and bought suits that I was so uncomfortable in and would wind up sitting in the chair for most of the day because I didn't like the suit or the way it fit. It's not worth it. Save the money and wear what you feel comfortable in. Every year I look for a top that looks pretty close to a sports bra. One because I am small chested and two I am a busy mom. I feel like those cover me so I can move with ease but they also don't make me look flat chested they look sporty to me :)... As for bottoms I am a full coverage kind of gal. I like my booty covered the ruching on swim suits is cute for most girls and don't get me wrong if my booty was as firm as I would like it to be, I would totally strut around in those but to me I like a good coverage. As for one pieces they can be super cute especially if you get one with some details on it. I literally just got an email from aerie and they are having 50% off all of their swimsuits for the next 2 days. Here are some of the ones I tried on yesterday. The white swim suit is from last year but it's still in stock at Billabong.

Cover ups for swim suits are great but I'm gonna be 100% honest I'm not a dress person. I try them all the time. Especially for going to the beach but I'm uncomfortable. Your bending over picking up chairs and surf boards. Your are at the pool and picking up toys and the cooler and I feel like all I do is mess with my dress. Ugh Not for me.  I love my board shorts and either a tank or tee. It's what I feel confident and comfortable in. This is a typical look of mine. This outfit is still in stock at billabong. You could also do a cute cover up that is easy to slid on and off this pink little romper is just adorable and can be worn to and from the beach and even out running errands. It's on sale right now at Aerie.

Last but not least everyone needs a great sandal or flip flop for there spring break. I usually go with a neutral color flip flop or sandal so I can interchange it with multiple outfits. Some of my favorite sandal/ flip flops are sanuk and reef. I have been wearing both of those brands for years. There are plenty of other brands don't get me wrong I am just a creator of habit and they are some of my favorites. I would say if your going to be wearing the sanuk's and are going to the beach don't wear the yoga mat ones there. If those get wet they start to foam and takes a while for them to dry out. I do love the yoga mat one's they are more for my around town or errands but the beach I make sure I get a solid pair or rubber flip flops. Here are a couple of looks that you could wear to the beach and then out and about around town.  I hope you all like these looks I put together for spring break essentials and enjoy your time off and with your friends and family.

Vanessa
