Style
Yesterday I was sitting and contemplating my outfit choice for running errands for the day and I thought what is my style? What is my go to when I want comfort and I want to still be cute? What says this is Vanessa? So I sat and I thought about it and then I let the brain chatter start in. Well I like to look sporty and cute, but I do like a good pair of jeans and sweater outfit(wait it's florida I'm way to hot) I like to have a little flair to my day. Lets just say it was exhausting I had so much going on in this little head of mine I was about to blow. So I grabbed my go to. And I'm sure your probably thinking what is her go to what is her style and I would have to say my go to since I was a young girl has always been sporty. I talk with my husband about it and he always says I can only imagine what you looked like when you were younger. And yes even then I was in umbro shorts (which by the way are making a strong come back) and t-shirts. When I wanted to dress up it was jean/jean shorts and some type of tank or flowy shirt. I always loved billabong and roxy brands as a kid growing up in florida and being a total beach lover so makes sense right I really haven't changed my style I have just evolved into the grown up version of what I was as a kid.
To get back to my go to it was Under Armour leggings and cute top to run all of my errands in. I simply tell you this because when I get asked about my style or how I chose outfits I always go with and tell my friends to go with comfort. What do you feel comfortable in. What do you like to wear and what makes you feel like you. What do you feel like you could wear and rock it like you were meant to wear it.
We have a tendency to try and wear things that one are so not us and two that we feel so uncomfortable in and it totally shows. Sorry girls I can totally tell when your not comfortable we all can, you pull at the leggings, you adjust the shirt like 100 times, your constantly trying to move or position yourself so feel comfortable and I'm speaking from experience here so I sympathize. But before you look to a blogger for fashion advice or listen to me ask yourself what is your style and what makes you feel confident?
As I post on here weekly I hope to give you all different types of style and ways of looking at your closet and or your daily activities and how can I spruce this up. This week I will start with fitness fashion. Lucky for me fitness fashion is in and I can go from work to errands to hanging out with my peeps and not feel like yikes I need to change. I think one of the best parts about fitness fashion is layering. You can layer up or even stay with just base layers and still look super cute. Leggings are a must I mostly have black I have a few colors sprinkled in but I feel black goes with everything. As for shirts I always have to think of what I am doing that day as to what to wear or how to layer. Today I knew it was an errand day with a client training so I wanted to stay kind of comfy but functional. Paired a fun top that had a back opening to one give it style but also great air conditioning and two was long sleeve for the colder morning and black legging with a little detail on it so they weren't so plain. I also put on my puffer vest which are a must this winter season for a little warmth this morning.
When your trying to figure out how to dress up or just not look like your in your gym clothes all day you have to accessorize with your comfort level. It could be a scarf, a jacket, or even like I did today with a puffer vest. I will keep posting for you all how to make those gym clothes stylish.
