Sun Bum
Hello Loves,
Now I am not sponsored nor do I get any kick back from this company I have just done my research and have fallen in love with Sun Bum. I am a Mom of 2 kids who have severe food allergies and eczema and sunscreen is not easy to find that works with my kids skin. I have tried so many products it’s not even funny. I am not a doctor or scientist but this is my findings for what works best for me and my kids.
I, one summer must have gone through 5 different types of sunscreen and sprays for my kids. Especially my son his eczema is the worst and I have to be careful so he doesn’t scar his skin. One summer I used baby zinc, you know like the diaper rash creams yes that. Let me just say that is not an easy apply when at the beach and with a toddler. Zinc is a great sun care coverage but it wasn’t enough. Some of the other lotions we tried but yet they would burn my son’s skin too. It was almost like they had to much alcohol in them or something. Then I went to spray’s. OMG, that always ended in tears between me and both kids. Now as a Mom your sitting there thinking I just burnt my kid and yet I know they need sunscreen to help protect them from the suns rays and from burning they’re skin and scaring from their eczema. I used to cry to my husband on the daily how do I fix this and what can I do to help them? We all love the water and love going to the water parks, beach, or even pool and what were we going to do?.
About 7 years ago I found this local company who was making sunscreen called Ocean Potion. They were the first relief we had in years. There were a couple of great things about this product one was the smell. It smelt like creamsicles and was pretty smooth and light when applied. My kids still didn’t like the spray but they loved the potion. Who wouldn’t? It smelt so good. But then my son’s skin started to flair up really bad when we were on vacation 4 years ago. We were desperate and wanted something that would work especially for his face. The ocean potion didn’t have face sticks and we needed relief for him. We happen to stumble upon this beach store in Destin and found a large Sun Bum display. My husband brought to my attention the face stick. One it smelt amazing, two we liked the feel of the stick and felt like Emmett wouldn’t mind it on his skin. It was easy to apply and something he could even do on his own. I read the ingredients and said to my husband lets give it a try. I have to say that was our first purchase of Sun Bum and that forever changed my kids outlook on sun care routines and we no longer ended crying and hating sunscreen routines.
Since that day we have been big believers in Sun Bum and literally don’t travel without it. It’s not greasy nor is it to thick. It smells great, and as long as you do re-apply throughout the day you don’t burn. I love to have a great tan and sun bum allows me to tan even with wearing 30 spf. I do wear on all of my tattoos and scars that I don’t want fading or getting darker I will wear the 50 spf which is amazing. My daughter is fair skin and eczema so we put 50 on her most of the time as for my son he has more my skin (meaning he can tan easier than my daughter) but does have bad eczema he wears the 30-50 spf, and he tans nicely. I highly recommend this sunscreen to any Mom who is dealing with their kids with eczema and sensitive skin. I recommend this sunscreen to anyone who loves the sun but wants the coverage. I recommend these products to anyone who loves sun bathing but wants to make sure that they have coverage not to burn. I can’t speak more highly out these products. Don’y get me wrong we still love Ocean Potion but Sun Bum filled all the needs we had.

We currently have tried all of there original lotions, original sprays, original face sticks, lip balms, and cooling lotion. One thing I am excited about trying this summer for my son is there new signature line. He is a little surfer guy who is constantly in and out of the water and loves swimming. I saw recently they have added in hair care products I look forward to trying these out. As a Florida girl with blonde hair and always outside and in the water having great hair care products in my beach bag are a must. I always have leave in spray or conditioner with a comb in my bag. This little trick has saved my hair, try it if you don’t believe me. Spray hair before you go to beach or pool and then again after your done swimming. It works wonders.
If any of you are looking to change up your sun care routine or needed some info about what to get I hope this helps especially for those Mama's like me who have kids with sensitive skin.
