Sunday Funday Bucket List
Hello Loves,
So do any of you have bucket list you want to accomplish in your life? I have made some and thought of some and just daydreamed from time to time about what I would like to see, do, and accomplish in my life. I'm always curious to know what some people consider to be a bucket list for them. I don't feel like a bucket list item has to be some major award (that was in the tone of father from a christmas story lol), I feel like it can be anything. Have you ever looked back at your life and thought wow I did that like I said I wanted to, but it didn't look the way I thought it would? I feel like we are to busy overlooking what we have done or where we have been because we are in comparison with everyone else. We forget that the universe is always taking care of us and there is always a way.
Yesterday was a bucket list item getting to see my nephew play at Duke University. Since he was a little boy he always said he wanted to play there, and to see him on that court was like a dream come true. It brought me back to when he was 5-6 years old playing basketball outside telling me "Ness, I'm gonna play there one day." For my own bucket list I would have to say this blog was one for me. I have always wanted to share about things about my life in the hopes of helping others. To be honest I feel like even if I have reached or helped just one person with this blog I had a second check on my bucket list. I am a very spiritual person, I grew up and went to Catholic school most of my life. I have studied all different types of religion while in catholic school, in college, and during my yoga teacher training. And I truly feel that each of them bring us something different, I have a belief of being a kind human being to all. I do feel that we all have purpose here to help each other grow through the good and the bad.
You may be asking why is she writing all about her spirituality when the blog is about bucket list. I say this because I to get caught in the "it didn't look the way I thought it would" image. And if I feel like this then I am sure others do too. If you really look at my Nephew he did play at Duke maybe not for them but he did play there. When I look at my bucket list even from being a little girl, I wanted to get married, CHECK, I wanted a husband who loved and supported me, CHECK, I wanted so badly for my sisters to like me and want to be around me, CHECK, I wanted to have kids, CHECK, I wanted to do something I was passionate about, CHECK, I wanted to get in shape and feel good about myself, CHECK. But, let me be honest even I few years ago if you asked me about all of those I could of said yes but with a hesitation and the main reason for that hesitation was my own thinking. Letting go of expectations and changing our thinking we can see our bucket list getting checked off and see our glasses half full instead of half empty. Perception is everything right?.
This of course got me thinking all of my bucket list items and really wanting to make a list and get excited for the future and what it holds. We should be excited for each day and what it holds. As one of my spiritual teachers says get on your high flying disc and enjoy the ride. I'm ready for this ride and I can't wait to see where my next adventure is.
