Concealer
Hello Loves,
Let me be 100% honest this pic is a bunch of concealer, those are some tired eyes. When traveling with 2 kids, trying to keep up with school work, your own work, late nights, and it being cold my eyes were looking beat. My sister and I were out here in Atlanta and we heard that you could get the IT brush with a purchase of the CC cream so I was on a mission. The foundation brush I was using hit the fan and was just falling apart. I've always wanted to try the IT brushes so I was glad I could get it with the purchase of the foundation. I'll give my review on that on another post.
Now back to concealer, I liked the IT concealer but I didn't like the tube it was in to be honest. I felt like sometimes I got way to much out and others I couldn't seem to get it out at all. But I also really wanted something that had more coverage especially for times like today. I was in line at ULTA again I now, I have an obsession but I saw they had the shape tape travel size I could purchase and it was in my color. So, I decided to give it a whirl.
First thing I loved about the concealer was that it was on a brush so it was easy to apply. Second I liked how thick it was when it came out of the tube. Third it was nice that you could build on it and it the product didn't crack. For instance I put some on and my eyes were still looking beat up so I added a second layer and it didn't start to crack or smear or even bubble up.TO make sure my concealer was set for the day I used my setting powder I have RMCA white/ transulent powder. I have to say I used it on me, my sister, and my daughter for the whole day. I did not see any difference between each of our skin as to it cracking or setting into our fine lines and making us look bad. That's 3 different age brackets and no difference. So to the girl at ULTA who said your told old to be using shape tape and to use something different you were wrong. I think if you are coating it and really slathering it on then yes it might be bad.
How to apply concealer?... In this pic I show you how I apply mine to my face. I go under my eyes in a triangle method downwards so you can blend out the concealer and you don't look like a clown and have two circles under your eyes. You want to brighten up around your eyes. I also do a small strip down the center of my nose and little small strips between my eyebrows. I also go under my nose and on my chin. Now this is if I am trying to contour my face for the day. If I am trying to do a simple look to go I do the triangles under my eyes and whatever is left on the blender I will use in the other areas. I do have to say using a setting powder under your eyes for either setting or baking does make a big difference. I feel like if you don't do that your concealer does start to sink into your fine lines and crack.
In all I would recommend shape tape...
Love and Butterflies,
Vanessa
